Norwalk Grows Edible Gardens

Lisa Lenskold, of Norwalk Grows planted the seed five years ago to install edible gardens in 12 of Norwalk Public Schools. In collaboration with GE, Pepperidge Farm, FoodCorps, Whole Foods and others, she changed mindsets and systems to develop a program aimed at promoting overall health and wellness. This week, Lowes Charitable and Education Foundation awarded a grant to Norwalk Grows to fund another edible garden at West Rocks Middle School to promote educational, health and wellness initiatives.
