Lyn Detroy, chairwoman of the Food Access Coalition, who operates Norwalk’s five Common Ground farmers markets, recently announced a program that will provide locally grown fruit and veggies to everyone, including those in need.

A subsidized pricing structure doubles the purchasing power for mothers with WIC (Women, Infants & Children) or SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) cards, the elderly and veterans. The work of the Food Access Coalition is critical because more than 100,000 Fairfield County residents struggle daily to find their next meal.
