Presenter: Attorney Robin Keller

Co-sponsored by SPED*NET Wilton, www.spednetwilton.org.
We, as parents and caregivers, want our children to be able to achieve progress academically, socially and emotionally in school. Sometimes, however, our children have more trouble than other kids. Reading, writing, doing math, organizing themselves and their work, planning ahead, understanding directions, sitting still or staying focused in class, and making friends may be overly difficult for them. How we respond to our children’s struggles — and what we do to advocate for them — can make a world of difference.
Whether your child is a student in regular education classes or identified as a child in need of special education services, join us as Attorney Robin Keller explains what you can do to help when you think — or know — your child needs extra support. Maybe you have already tried speaking with their teachers or principal and have not been satisfied. Maybe you need next steps…a question and answer session will follow Attorney Keller’s presentation.
Attorney Robin P. Keller’s Norwalk law practice is focused on education law, with a particular emphasis on special education – representing parents/guardians of children with special needs in a wide range of placement and programming proceedings, including eligibility determinations, planning and placement team and IEP meetings, Manifestation Determination Meetings, mediation and due process hearings. A significant portion of her practice is dedicated to assisting parents/guardians of Connecticut’s under-represented children in Lower Fairfield County through her private law practice and her affiliation with the Child & Family Guidance Center, in Bridgeport, the Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County, the Center for Children’s Advocacy, and the Adoption Assistance Program.
