Norwalk’s Childcare providers are invited to attend this program to discuss how you and your staff can plan and prepare for, respond to, recover from the effects of a major disaster affecting your facility and/or the City.
A major disaster affecting Norwalk could result in long-term power outages, infrastructure damage, flooding and other issues. Childcare providers, both large and small, provide a critical link to families. After a disaster, it’s critical for businesses to reopen immediately so residents can return to work. Workers with young children will depend upon their day care providers to resume operations so they can begin their own recovery.
We recognize that Childcare providers are required to have emergency plans in place to safeguard the children in your care. We want to ensure your facility has the plans and resources in place to effectively prepare, respond and recover to an emergency and help you build response networks and relationships with other day care providers.
