Building Your Business as an Artist
with Elizabeth Tardif
Learn how to apply basic business concepts to build success in connecting to collectors and buyers. The world of visual art is highly competitive as well as subjective. Knowing how to position and promote your art and your artistic message to the right audience is the key to realizing success as a visual artist. There are many avenues to pursue; understanding which ones are the most compatible with your work and your resources will make all the difference. Developing a plan and a strategy can save you from many unnecessary expenses and make your promotional investment more efficient and rewarding.
As a curator and art business owner for many years, Liz brings a well-rounded perspective of knowledge and experience in the visual arts. She has served as a curator for the Bruce S. Kershner Gallery, which hosts 6 – 8 professional art exhibits annually, representing all mediums, including painting, photography, fabric art, sculpture and more.
Also an art consultant, Liz is the founder of Cherry Street Art, a unique resource connecting local, national and international artists with collectors. Cherry Street Art offers a menu of services to help art collectors and buyers navigate the world of galleries and shows to find art they love while providing promotion, marketing and business development services to professional artists. Its mission is to inspire, encourage and increase awareness of the value of visual art, and turning collecting into a rewarding experience for all.
