Norwalk ACTS is excited to launch a Civic Influencer cohort for Norwalk ACTS Members affiliated with partner organizations. Learn more about our 1st cohort here.
The Civic Influencer program is designed to:
- To advocate for equity-focused policies and practices within our schools, the school district, and in broader local and state government efforts;
- To increase civic engagement and expand civic engagement efforts within partner member organizations;
- To connect members of our community to each other and to the broader community;
- To break down barriers for more community members, especially those who identify with historically marginalized identities, to inform public policy; and,
- To ensure that the state and Norwalk’s local government represents the communities they serve in identity and action.
This cohort will include 10-20 Norwalk ACTS members that represent Norwalk ACTS partner organizations and that represent the diversity of Norwalk.
Cohort fellows who apply to participate in the equity-focused fellowship program will be selected to ensure a diversity in identities and partner member organizations.
Fellow responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in all 4 workshops (dates tentative)* in Norwalk (location TBD)
- Create an action plan of potential next steps during the final workshop day
- Participate in future check-ins to support the implementation of individual action plans and inform additional capacity building or civic engagement supports
